Passageways Part of Taste of the Junction

As with all festivals in the Junction there will be a focus on the arts next weekend. There was a special call-out this year for the artists who will be participating in “Passageways” a series of culturally unique installations. According to the Junction BIA website the Passageways artists were: “Selected through a competitive process that drew 32 submissions, the five featured Passageways artists are Margaret Cresswell (British), Favour Enemaku / Vinh Phat Luu (Black), Sarah Alinia Ziazi (South Asian), Jacqueline Chan (Chinese), and Julia Louise Pereira (Portuguese). Their installations will bring each cultural theme to life through engaging environments designed to spark curiosity, reflection, and connection.”

Taste of the Junction returns next weekend, Saturday, June 27, 11am-7pm, after a one year hiatus. Things will be a little different this time out. The festival will be somewhat contained in the Green P parking lot on Pacific and there will be no accompanying road closures. Despite the containment there will be more than 50 vendors and a children’s play area spilling into the No Frill Parking Lot.
