2026 City Budget: Learn More and Have Your Say

The $18.9 billion dollar budget will be approved in February by Toronto City Council

Toronto has launched the 2026 budget; it was prepared by city staff and has been proposed to the city budget committee. You can read highlights from the budget on the city website. Feedback on the budget can be submitted in writing. You can also apply to comment on the budget in person.

Mayor Olivia Chow and Budget Committee Chair Shelley Carroll are hosting a budget telephone town hall tonight at 7:00pm.

If you are interested in learning more about the upcoming budget from our local councillors, 2 have announced Town Halls to discuss the budget with community members. Councillor Gord Perks and Councillor Amber Morely are each hosting virtual Town Halls on Monday, January 19. Councillor Alejandra Bravo is offering an opportunity to learn how the budget process works, on February 5. You can check their websites for details on how to attend. Councillor Frances Nunziata had not posted a budget update at time of publication.
