Goodbye Junction Spin Hello 2026

Has the need to take a little pressure off meant we’re not celebrating New Year’s Eve like we used to? While the turn of the earth around the sun does happen every year, this year will only end once, 2026 will only start once. Does every year warrant some remark in it’s passing?

If you are in town, give yourself a no-pressure new year’s; have dinner at one of the many neighborhood restaurants then find a place that’s open late and plan to stick around until at least midnight. If you want to up the ante a little, there are a few ticketed events taking place that you may want to consider.

The Old Mill is doing dinner and dancing with a Bee Gees Tribute band. My House, on Dundas is hosting an event with live music. The Alpine is hosting a Karaoke new year’s party. Junction Underground is holding a retro new year’s event, they’ll have retro video, music and vibes.

Whatever you end up doing to bring in the new year, we hope it’s fun that you’re with good people. We also hope that 2026 brings you joy.

Are you saying goodbye to something that you’re glad to see go or do you plan on recreating some kind of magic that happened this year. Here at River to Rail, we said goodbye to Junction Spin and while we know the change was necessary, we’re still a little sad to see it go. We’re looking forward to all the improvements this change has promised for 2026.
